Success as A-Level achievers set sights on a variety of destinations ​​​​​​​

Young people at our Trust's seven Sixth Form centres, spanning Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, were delighted with their results and excited to take the next step in their education.

Emotions ran high as envelopes were torn open to reveal the all-important grades. Students' exceptional work paid off, with many individuals excelling beyond expectation to achieve the grades they had hoped for - or higher! 

Students across our sixth forms have plenty to celebrate today. Whether being accepted to top universities or securing high level apprenticeships, the important thing is that our students have been able to achieve their potential and move onto the next stage of their chosen paths.

Many will go on to study some of the most sought-after degree courses at internationally renowned institutions across the UK, including Oxbridge and Russell Group universities.

Several students have successfully earned places at Oxford and Cambridge universities:

The Redhill Academy

• Diego will be reading Architecture at St John’s College, Cambridge.

Brookfield Community School

• Daria achieved A*A*A and will study Architecture at the University of Cambridge. Having arrived in the UK as a Ukrainian refugee and joined Brookfield in 2022, her achievement is particularly inspiring.
• Rose achieved AAA and will progress to the University of Oxford to study Law with Spanish, having previously achieved straight Grade 9s at GCSE at Brookfield.

Variety of studies 

Across Redhill Academy Trust, students will embark on a fascinating spectrum of degree courses, from medicine and nursing to biochemistry, archaeology, aerospace engineering, linguistics, politics & international affairs, graphic design, film & TV, physiotherapy, and even palaeontology! 

Tupton Hall School

Ethan achieved Bs in Biology and Environmental Science, along with a C in Geography, and is heading to the University of Bristol to study palaeontology with the long-term goal of working as a palaeontologist.

Melodie achieved an A in Psychology alongside Bs in Sociology and English Language, and is heading to the University of Sheffield to study Psychology. Melodie said that she loved every minute of her time at sixth form, crediting supportive teachers and targeted revision sessions for helping her to succeed. With a long-term goal of building a meaningful career in psychology or social work, she is ready to dive straight into her degree.

The Carlton Academy

At The Carlton Academy almost 50% of grades were A* to B and more than 70 students are progressing onto university, while others embark on degree apprenticeships.

Taran ended his seven years at school with tremendous success; A* grades in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and A grade in Computer Science. He will now go on to study Mathematics.

Other successes include Azan, whose A* grade in Urdu and A grades in Biology, Chemistry and Fine Art have secured a place at the University of Nottingham studying Medicine.

The teachers have been incredibly supportive and motivating throughout my time in sixth form. The level of support has been unmatched, and the staff work tirelessly to help students succeed. They are always welcoming, approachable, and genuinely care about every student's progress.

Vocational courses 

Other school leavers have been successful in gaining prestigious degree apprenticeships and employment opportunities. 

• James was one of Hall Park Academy’s highest achieving students, excelling across Business Studies, Sociology and Geography. He has secured a highly regarded degree apprenticeship in nuclear business at Rolls Royce James said: “I wouldn't have got the grades I did without the support of my teachers. I am really excited to start my apprenticeship at Rolls Royce.”
• Nathan at South Nottinghamshire Academy achieved A*A*A and will be joining Clegg Construction to complete a Quantity Surveying Degree Apprenticeship.
• Jasmine from Tupton Hall Sixth Form secured As in Psychology and Sociology and a C in English Language and is stepping straight into an Accountancy apprenticeship.
• Also at Tupton Hall, Olivia secured A*s in Fine Art and Photography, alongside an A in Media and a B in Film, with career sights set on the media and film industries and an apprenticeship application currently in motion with Channel 4.

At Redhill Sixth Form's Oakwood campus, which offers Level 3 vocational qualifications, there was an outstanding set of results across Sport, Health & Social Care and Early Years Education courses.

Both schools and students have worked incredibly hard this year, and as a result several of our schools are celebrating their highest ever average points score for students, while vocational performance has again been exceptional. It is great to see so many of our students getting rewards for their hard work and celebrating their ambitious destinations.
