Meet the Executive Board

The Redhill Academy Trust’s Executive Board of Directors (Trustees) oversees the strategy and development of the Trust. It consists largely of local people whose children are attending or have attended one of the Trust academies. They have a wide range of professional skills and experience with which to support the work of our leadership teams and staff.

Executive Leadership

Andrew Burns, OBE, Executive Principal of The Redhill Trust, Principal of The Redhill Academy since 2004, National Leader Education since 2009.

Executive Board Directors

Steve Hopkins, Chair of The Redhill Trust - Experience in financial services, Chartered Financial Planner and Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Barry Bexton – Recently retired. Previously a Legal Executive, both in private practice and industry.

Michael Booth – Trustee/director of PTA UK. Board member of Nottingham County Council school governing board.  Member of Youth Inclusion Support Panel in Nottingham.

Julian Bond – Chartered Manager, Chartered Engineer and a Chartered IT Professional. Member of the Institute of Risk Management.

Barry Daley – Retired businessman, previously director of his own firm.

Kevin Edwards – Self-employed Business Advisor since 2009. Previously CEO of a regeneration/investment company. Chair of Hall Park Academy since 2013.

David Hallam – Chair of Governors at The Oakwood Academy. Company director for a building and joinery company (Joinery Lines). Building Schools for the Future co-ordinator.

Deborah Haynes – Learning and Development Facilitator at a professional trade union. 

Sally Hopkin – Qualified procurement professional, currently a Category manager (IT) for the University of Nottingham.

Steve Mathers – Retired police officer (CID). Chair of Governors at The Carlton Academy.

Michael Payne – Deputy Leader of Gedling Borough Council. Trainee barrister.

Steve Shaw, Vice Chair – Retired Maths Teacher whose role also included Head of Careers, Work Experience Coordinator and Head of Year at a local secondary school.
